PAI wanted more than a technology refresh. The objectives included retiring legacy systems, giving its Board of Directors a modern portal that still felt familiar, consolidating file storage, refreshing the intranet experience, and gaining better visibility into organizational data. Dependable security and support had to continue throughout the transition. Through phased planning, careful testing, and close communication, NIFTIT built a foundation PAI’s staff and board could rely on.

NIFTIT’s solution for PAI centered on moving the organization from legacy on-premises systems to SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365. We delivered the work in phases so staff and board members could keep working without interruption.

The Board of Directors portal was the largest workstream. Our team converted years of legacy pages, rebuilt the navigation, and created a member directory. We also developed custom web parts, including an events timeline, a week-at-a-glance view, and a staff celebrations and anniversaries feature. Every page was tested across browsers and devices before launch. We also documented how PAI staff can maintain the member directory themselves.

Alongside the portal, we moved PAI’s shared file storage into SharePoint Online, consolidating tools and making files easier to find. We also designed homepage mockups for the new intranet and carried them through to a live homepage and department sites.

To help PAI get more from its data, we ran discovery sessions for a new Power BI reporting initiative, gathering requirements and laying the groundwork for future dashboards. Throughout the year we provided weekly support, including a fast response to a security incident that protected PAI’s systems and data.

Along the way, we diagnosed and resolved a navigation issue caused by a third-party component instead of applying a surface-level fix. The result is a modern, secure workplace that feels familiar to the people who use it.
